[MALAYSIA] Kuala Selangor Eagle Feeding, Firefly & Blue Tears Tour


Kuala Selangor (approximately an-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur) is a small town where the Selangor River meets the sea. It is also where you can see the fireflies by boat. Besides seeing fireflies, we joined a local tour which also includes eagle feeding and blue tears which lasted about 3 hours.

[MALAYSIA] Sarawak - Fort Margherita


Standing atop a hill overlooking the Sarawak River on the north bank, Fort Margherita was built by James Brooke in 1879 to guard the entrance to the port from the attacks by pirates. It is named after Brooke's beloved wife, Ranee of Sarawak. The fort is now a tourist attraction in Kuching.

[MALAYSIA] Sarawak - Annah Rais Longhouse and Hot Spring


Annah Rais is one of the oldest Bidayuh Longhouse. For centuries, the villages who are from the “Bidayuh” tribe used to stay on top of the two mountains. Eventually, they moved down from the mountains and stayed at the longhouse for more than 150 years. It is one of the nearest and easiest longhouses to access as it is located 60km from Kuching city. Annah Rais Hot Springs is located just 3km from Annah Rais village. So it is recommended to visit both sites at the same time.

[MALAYSIA] Sarawak - Semenggoh Wildlife Centre


Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is an orangutan sanctuary and nature reserve in Kuching. It is one of three such rehab centres for orangutans in Malaysia. During feeding times (twice a day), the semi-wild orangutans might show up and provide visitors an unique opportunity to see them at close range. There is no guarantee to see these interesting creatures but it is highly likely.

Kuching Waterfront along the south bank of Sarawak River offers scenic views of the Astana, the iconic Sarawak State Legislative Assembly building and Fort Margherita across the river. The most convenient way to cross the river is to take a ride on a local Penambang boat or go for a stroll across the newly constructed Darul Hana Bridge that connects both riverbanks. During sunset time, it is popular to take a cruise along the river which usually last for 1 hour and 30 minutes to enjoy the panoramic view of Kuching.
