TURKEY– Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Ride
Hot Air Balloon Tours are a favourite among visitors to Cappadocia. It is the best way for an aerial view of the fairy chimneys.
The hot air balloon company that we joined is Royal Balloon. According to their promotional video, Martha Stewart also joined their hot air balloon tour. The fee was USD 220 per person but it was worth it.
We woke up early in the morning and depart to the Royal Balloon office and restaurant to have our early breakfast. As I mentioned before, the hot air balloon tour was postponed on the first day due to the bad weather. Fortunately the weather was good on the next morning and we finally managed to ride the hot air balloon.
We were all excited as we could see many hot air balloon already floating in the air by the time we arrived at the site.
Preparing to enter the basket of hot air balloon.
Yes, we’re all set to fly.
We are in the air now!
The hot air balloons in the sky were countless.
The sun was rising in the horizon.
It was a breath-taking moment.
We’re rising higher and higher up in the air.
No matter how you shoot the photos, all photos just turned out amazingly.
Taking photo with my colleague
We were flying so near to the fairy chimneys and it felt like I could almost touch it.
The highest altitude we flew was 1,000 feet above ground!
All the others balloon seemed so small! And it was freezing cold up there.
Began to descend from the height slowly.
One of the hot air balloon could be seen being deflated on the ground. It was almost time for us to reach the ground too.
Took a selfie just before we touched ground.
The guys were preparing for our landing.
The truth is out there. Haha.
We were so near to the ground.
The guys started to pull our hot air balloon in place. Our hot air balloon actually landed on a trailer.

So how did we get out from the basket?
Well, we were all being carried bridal style by these strong men.
It’s champagne time…
… and photo-taking time.
Each and everyone of us were given a glass of champagne and a medal to celebrate our success of riding the hot air balloon.
Cheers!
It was a really memorable experience for me.
