QATAR - The Pearl
Located at the northern end of Doha, is The Pearl Qatar. The Pearl is an artificial island covering an area of approximately 400 hectares of reclaimed land.
Welcome to the Pearl.
Apartment blocks dominates the skyline of the Pearl.
What attracts me to the Pearl is the waterfront of the pearl called the La Croisette.
The 2.5 kilometer of pedestrianized concourse is lined with shops and restaurant. Strolling along the concourse during the cooler months is very enjoyable.
Most of the shops at the Pearl are home to renowned luxury brand.
The Riviera style man-made island.
We were there in early morning, so the shops were not opened yet.
In the middle of the Pearl, is Porto Arabia.
Looking out from Porto Arabia to the Pearl.
It is the first place in Qatar to be available for foreign national to purchase a property here at the Pearl.
Only high income expatriates lives here at the Pearl as the rental of a unit is double of what you would get in downtown Doha. Rental for a studio apartment starts at QAR 10,000 (USD 2,750) per month.
A beautiful view greets you everyday if you can stay here at the Pearl.
Tse Yang is a Chinese restaurant at the Pearl. Food and ambience are good but expensive and portion is small.
Good ambiance with nice decor. But they kept playing the same music on that day.
There’s a small play area at the restaurant where my son could play while I enjoyed my meal.
There is also a changing table where moms can change diapers easily.
There’s enough toys in the play room to keep children occupied.
We ordered a prawn dish with glass noodle.
Another dish is chicken. I preferred the prawn though.
I usually come here at the Pearl for the food and while enjoying the view.
Try eating at the Carluccio’s. It has outdoor seating with view of the sea and the food is good. The food portion is generous and is reasonably priced.
I love their pancakes with banana and blue berries. Two thumbs up!
My parents in law visited the Pearl while they were in Qatar last year.
Three generations in one photo: Father, son and grandson.
My son and his grandmother.
There isn’t much place to go in Qatar. The Pearl is one of my favourite place to go since it’s not crowded and has nice view of the sea.
