DSCF2107Waikiki might not offer people the serenity and relaxation they are looking for when coming to Hawaii. But with 19 beaches in Oahu, you just need to know where to look for the place that offers a less crowded surrounding.

DSCF2095My sis rented a car for our outing for the day.

DSCF2082Stop here at Bubbies for some dessert.

DSCF2080Bubbies serves homemade ice cream and dessert.

DSCF2085Their speciality is the famous mochi ice cream. With over 20 flavours to chooses from, the mochi looks delicious.

DSCF2081 (2)Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts has been manufacturing ice cream for over 27 years.

DSCF2084Other than the mochi ice cream, they also have ice cream pies and cakes.

DSCF2087
A cosy restaurant to enjoy your ice cream.

DSCF2091Chose the flavour of my mochi and we are on our way.

DSCF2090The rich and creamy mochi ice cream sure taste good. Most definitely recommended.

DSCF2093We’re on an eating spree!

DSCF2095After dessert, stopped here at the Wahoo’s Fish Tacos for drinks and more food.

DSCF2094Had some fish tacos and a cocktail before continuing on with our journey.

DSCF2101First highlight of the day is Lanai Lookout.

DSCF2103Lanai Lookout is a scenic lookout that features a very distant view of the Island of Lanai. Hmmm…don’t think I can see the island. I wouldn't know if I’m looking at one though.

DSCF2110Nate having a closer look at the surrounding area.

DSCF2111President Obama’s grandmother and mother’s ashes were scattered here.

DSCF2114Me and my sis at the Lanai Lookout.

DSCF2117Watching the waves crash against the rock.

DSCF2119Though dangerous, some extreme divers dive here for the rush of adrenaline

DSCF2116Love it here. The scenery is breath-taking.

DSCF2120Time to climb back up the rocky path, to the parking lot.

DSCF2139Welcome to Sandy Beach Park.

DSCF2140In fact, this stretch of beach is a favourite of President Barack Obama.

DSCF2138Whoa…the waves are really treacherous at this beach.

DSCF2122Sandy Beach, also known as the ‘break-neck’ beach because more injuries occur at this beach per year than any other beach in Hawaii.

DSCF2123The beach is known for body boarding and body surfing. The massive shore break can be dangerous, so bodysurf at your own risk.

DSCF2124The Halona Blowhole can be seen from Sandy Beach and it is the best angle to see the rock formation shoots sea water into the air through the cave acting like a geyser.

DSCF2125Just feels so relaxing sitting at the beach while watching the waves thundering towards the shore and enjoy the sea breeze against your skin.

DSCF2126Or you can just take pictures of the waves and surfers.

DSCF2133Nate and my sis having a fun time at the beach.

DSCF2136 (2)Sandy Beach is popular among the locals.

DSCF2136Body surfers having a blast here.

DSCF2137Don’t spend all your time at the Waikiki Beach, Sandy Beach located on the South Shore of Oahu is a beautiful beach worth visiting.

DSCF2135Really had wonderful time at the beach with my sis.

DSCF2147

DSCF2152
I don’t know if its a sea or a river, but there are some people having a dip here.

DSCF2165Next up, Kailua Beach located on the Windward Coast.

DSCF8014The waves seems gentler here.

DSCF2155With nice fine sand and gentle sea breeze, this beach is perfect for sunbathing, swimming and wind surfing.

DSCF2157Backdrop of tiny islands, makes Kailua Beach one of Hawaii’s most beautiful beach.

DSCF2154

DSCF2158You can opt for some adventure by kayaking to some of the nearby island.

DSCF2159Two ladies lounging on the sand with their dog.

DSCF2160Visitors strolling at the beach. On the top of the picture is Popoia Island also known as Flat Island which serves mostly as a bird sanctuary.

DSCF2162That’s my sis having a dip at the ocean.

DSCF2163It’s my first time seeing people kite surfing. I didn’t even know that people can surf this way. Seems quite difficult.

DSCF2164Kids building a sand castle.

DSCF2167With its white powdery sand, turquoise water and gentle breeze, Kailua Beach is so far the best beach I’ve been to in Hawaii.

DSCF2168Time to make a move.

DSCF2169Managed to explore two beaches of Oahu and I felt just so relaxed and rejuvenating.

DSCF8042Passed by a few beaches on the way back.

DSCF8044

DSCF8046

DSCF8048One can relax on Oahu just by going to the right destination on the island.

A secluded spot on the beach to enjoy your book.

DSCF8067Or a spot to enjoy your fishing.

DSCF8056

DSCF8059Unlike Waikiki, other beaches are not crowded.

DSCF8060

DSCF2170'Chinaman’s Hat is a cone shaped island off Kualoa Park. It is called Chinaman’s Hat because of the resemblance to the peasant’s hat worn in rural China.

DSCF2175Wouldn’t miss the opportunity for a photo with Chinaman’s Hat.

DSCF2179Where to next?

DSCF2180Dinner of course! Ate at the Giovannis Original White Shrimp Truck.

DSCF2181My sis sure knows every nook and cranny of Oahu.

DSCF2183It's a popular place for both locals and visitors to go to.

DSCF2184What should I have?

DSCF2185
I had the Lemon Butter Shrimp. Yummy!

DSCF2186Time for some dessert at the Aoki’s Shave Ice.

DSCF2187The locals swears by shave ice to cool down after spending time at the beach.

DSCF2188Hmmm….what should I have? They all seems yummy.

DSCF2189Even President Obama famously treated his family to some shave ice.

DSCF2190Shave ice is a must try dessert.

DSCF2099Really had a wonderful time travelling around Oahu together with my sis. Other than the touristy area of Waikiki, Oahu has so much more to offer.
