[MALAYSIA] Cameron Valley Tea Plantation
The Cameron Highlands in Malaysia are famous for one thing above all else: rolling, emerald green tea plantations that blanket the cool, misty mountainside. And nestled among these breathtaking vistas is Cameron Valley Tea, an unmissable stop for any visitor seeking beauty, tranquility.
The Bharat Group, which operates Cameron Valley Tea, has been involved in tea cultivation in the Cameron Highlands since 1933, making it a brand steeped in history and tradition. They are one of the key players in the region, focusing on high-quality tea production.
The cooler climate and high altitude of the Cameron Highlands provide the ideal conditions for growing tea. While the total volume of tea produced in Malaysia is relatively small on a global scale, the emphasis here is on specialist teas that capture the unique flavour profile of this Malaysian highland region.
Perched strategically on the main road, the viewing decks of Cameron Valley Tea Houses offer genuinely panoramic views that stretch deep into the valley. Here, you can sample a wide range of Cameron Valley's own teas.
For a small fee, visitors can purchase a ticket to walk down into the plantation itself, which was what we did. This is highly recommended as it allows visitors to get up close and personal with the tea bushes, appreciate the sheer scale of the estate, and capture those postcard-perfect photos among the foliage. The dense tapestry of tea bushes, perfectly manicured and contoured to the hills, is the perfect backdrop to our photos.
If you're heading to the Cameron Highlands, a stop at Cameron Valley Tea, especially one of the houses located between Ringlet and Tanah Rata, should be at the top of your list.
