[IRAN] Esfahan – Manar Jonban (Shaking Minarets)

Manar Jonban or Shaking Minarets is the mausoleum of Amu Abdollah Garladani, one of the mystic men in 7th and 8th centuries of lunar Hejira who passed away in 716. The most interesting and exciting feature of these minarets is that when one minaret starts shaking, the other starts shaking with the same frequency simultaneously.



We took a taxi to come here since it wasn’t included in our tour itinery.



Entrance to the second floor and the roof of the building is not allowed.



Ticket price is 150,000 rial.







The minarets are shaken hourly. So we waited on the bench in front of the building.





This building includes two minarets and they are 17 meters high from the ground level, so that the distances between them is about 10 meters.







On the ground floor, the tomb of Amu Abdollah Garladani can be seen.







The shaking minarets is counted as one of the architectural wonders.



Looks like now I have covered all the main attraction in Esfahan.



In the evening, I went back to Imam Khomeini Square for a walk.





My son was excited to see the horse carriages in action.



Went into a block print shop.





This is how they applied the block prints on the table cloth.



A local Iranian lady wanted to take a photo with my son while we were strolling at the square. In the next morning, we left Esfahan and headed back to Tehran.
