BRYCE CANYON, USA
Bryce Canyon National Park is the most popular park in the state of Utah. Bryce Canyon is famous for its colourful limestone rock carved by the rainwater and ice into bizarre shapes called “hoodoos”. Approximately 200 days a year, ice and snow melt during the day and refreeze at night. When the water freezes, it expands and pushes the rocks apart creating the different hoodoos and windows.
Stopped by Subway restaurant, the largest single-brand restaurant chain in America and also the world.
The super size sandwich I had for lunch.
Red Canyon can be seen on the way to Bryce Canyon.
The hoodoos at Red Canyon were similar to those in Bryce Canyon but in a less grand scale.

… and I am finally here!
From this view point, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the canyon amphitheatre.
It was like a gathering place of giants.
There are many hiking trails in the park. Good walking shoes are recommended as most trails are steep. You might experience shortness of breath as the highest elevation is more than 9,000ft. Walk slowly!
Looking down to the hiking trail in the park.
The freezing and thawing of water sculptured the rocks into thousands of pinnacle.
The hoodoos formation are simply amazing. Took tons of picture here.
The trail is in a zigzag pattern and there are no railings at the edge. So you have to watch your steps as you hike down.
Walking down one of the trail of the park.
I can’t help but marvel at the spectacular scene around me.
This is one of my favourite shot. Good thing my Fujifilm camera has a vertical panorama mode.
A natural arch door.
A photography enthusiast taking his shot. Oh wait, he’s actually my beau. :)
Hiking back to the top.
I don’t think there is another place in the world where you can find such concentration of pinnacles with odd shapes like those found in Bryce Canyon.
Bryce Canyon is named after Ebenezer Bryce, one of the earlier settler of Mormon. What is Mormon? Let you know in my other posting where I went to their Headquarters in Temple Square.
The Thor’s Hammer. Anyone want to give a try to pull it out? (laugh)
Sunset Point.
A red classic car at the parking area.
Forest at the Bryce Canyon National Park.
Stopping by a gas station on the highway. The roads in America are usually very long and straight.
Giant white truck which reminds me of Optimus Prime.
Quirky bathroom door sign at the gas station.
Let’s have a snack break, shall we?
The fuel price at that time.
A salute to those who serve. The Americans are sure proud of their Army.
Bryce Canyon Airport. I wouldn’t have noticed it was an airport if not for the bright yellow sign.
A mounted wolf at the souvenir shop. Creeps me out a little.
I bought a miniature tipi at the souvenir shop. The lady at the counter playfully put the tipi on her head like a hat. A girl flashing a peace sign at the background. Americans are such friendly people.
Taking pictures over here in Bryce Canyon is just a great experience. With this, I call it a day.
Next up, Salt Lake City.
