PERRINE MEMORIAL BRIDGE & SNAKE RIVER CANYON, USA
The I. B. Perrine Bridge at Twin Falls, Idaho is named after I. B. Perrine, who spearheaded the early 20th century irrigation projects in the Magic Valley region and is largely credited as the main founder of Twin Falls.
The steel cantilever bridge was originally named the Twin Falls-Jerome Intercounty Bridge. At the time that it opened to traffic in September 1927, it was the highest bridge in the world. However 50 years later, the original bridge was out-dated and unable to handle heavy loads and required replacement. It cost $9,700,000 to build the current bridge and its construction took approximately 3 years to finish (May 1973 – July 1976). After this, the original cantilever bridge to the west was disassembled.
The following dialogues are purely fictional and for entertainment purpose only. XD
“Mr. Perrine, will you marry me?”
“Yes, he said yes.”
“It’s a deal. She’s all yours.” – The End

The pavement tiles on the floor are carved with names of the sponsors of the construction of the pavement along the canyon.

The stunning view of Snake River Canyon.
The overhang platform reminds me very much of the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon.
The reflection on the river is crystal clear.
The path running along the wall of the canyon.
Snake River Canyon , formed by the Snake River in Southern Idaho, is approximately 500ft deep and 1350ft wide.
I went under the bridge to have a closer look.
I was so close that I could even touch its steel structure.
You jump, I jump. Wait, there is actually a safer way to jump from the bridge.….
…. because Perrine Bridge is a popular BASE jumping site known all over the world.
The steel cantilever bridge crossing the canyon is the only man made structure in the United States where BASE jumping is allowed year round without permit.

“Twins” is a statue nearby the bridge.
I guess it symbolises the Twin Fall.

Let’s continue on to the famous Shoeshone Falls nearby. Just posing beside the car, I wished it was my ride.
Didn’t get to see any BASE jumpers. Well I guess it was too early in the morning. Anyway, I had a nice view of the canyon together with the bridge.
