INDONESIA - Mount Merapi
Mount Merapi is the most active volcano in Indonesia and has erupted regularly since 1548.
Some of the views of Mount Merapi or also known as Fire Mountain.
It was just about two months since the last eruption of Mount Merapi while I was in Yogyakarta in 2011.
Won’t really write much since it’s been a while, so just enjoy the pictures.
The river fill with the ashes of the volcano.
A signboard warning us to beware of the cliff.
The two structure was rebuilt as an indication of where Mbah Maridjan’s house was. He was the spiritual guardian of Mount Merapi. He’s body was found in a praying position in this house.
Once there was a village here, all devastated by the fury of Mount Merapi.
What is left of a house.
You can hike up the hill or you can hire a motorcycle to take you to the top. I opted for the second option.
Back to the hotel.
Time to say goodbye. Just for info, I booked the tour through www.lombokholidaytour.com.
Did some last minute shopping at the airport.
Time to leave Indonesia.
