THAILAND - Phuket, Patong

Patong is the main beach resort area on Phuket. Patong is the place to party and play. Other than the beach the town’s bustling nightlife which includes hundreds of restaurants, GoGo Bars and bars will keep you entertained.

After the Phuket City Tour, we headed to Patong.

Checked into the Nap Patong hotel.

The design of the hotel is much more sophisticated than I was expecting.

At 2000 baht per night, it really was a steal.

That’s the room number I stayed.

While I was checking in, they told me they offered me a free upgrade to superior deluxe room. Well I don’t know how a normal deluxe room looks like, but I am satisfied of the room. Moreover, you can drink and eat all the items in the minibar for free and they will refill it the next morning.

You can relax and enjoy the quiet outdoor at the balcony.

The view from my balcony looking towards the swimming pool.

The China Town Plaza in Patong.

Just a few stalls along the street.

Tiger Inn, a budget place to spend a night.

Passed by the 99 Restaurant. There were many people eating in this restaurant. Must be good.

Seafood on display for you to select what you want for your meal.

Ordered some prawns with glass noodles.

Clam soup.

A fried fish.

And a banana split for my dessert. Overall the food was okay. Nothing to shout about.

If you are interested, you can always watch the Muay Thai. My schedule in Phuket was pretty tight, so I gave it a pass.

Continued walking along Rat-U-Thit Road.

The famous FBI Tai Pan night club.

Patong sure is the happening place of Phuket!

Two rows of motorcycle parked in uniform.

Not to be missed in Patong is the Jungceylon shopping mall.

Some part of the mall has an open air concept which really was not suitable during this time of the year. I was in Phuket in July which was a rainy season. I was soaking wet during my first night in Phuket. At first, I thought it was going to be a disastrous holiday for me. But surprisingly, it only rain once during my 5 days in Phuket.

Ladies, if you want to pamper yourself, the Pimnara Spa in Jungceylon Mall is the place to be. A professional spa and not the sleazy type you see around Phuket.

Jungceylon Mall sure is huge and packed with people. You can practically spend the whole day in this mall. The mall is divided into 4 zones which are Silang Boulevard, The Port, Sino Phuket and Phuket Square.

The Jungceylon Musical Fountain in front of the Chinese Junk Boat entertaining shoppers from 7pm till 9pm everyday.

The most happening and famous or should I say the infamous street in Patong is the Bangla Street.

Rock Hard. This is where I watched the Ping Pong show. Not the Ping Pong, table and bat competition. It is where woman performs with their privates such as blowing a whistle and pulling out small fishes from underneath there. It surely was an eye opener. There were also some topless girls dancing on stage to keep you entertained. But you must order drinks to watch the show which is minimum 900 baht per drink per person. And at the end of the show, the girls will collect tips from you.

Bangla Road is the epicentre of Phuket’s nightlife, shopping and entertainment hub.

Plenty of a-go-gos.

Girls, beers and music.

The raunchy nightlife at Bangla Road.

The rain sure did not stop people from coming to Bangla Road to enjoy themself.

Girls sitting at the entrance, coaxing customers to their place.

The side streets of Bangla Road or better known as Soi’s are occupied by beer bars, a-go-gos and pubs.

Go Go Girls performing at the pole.

The Go Go Girls sure are sexy and pretty.

Well, if you’re a lady you should keep a watchful eye of your other half while in Patong.

If clubbing is your thing, there are a few Discos around here such as the Hollywood Discotheque.

Plenty of restaurants in Patong. No worries about food.

A precautionary Tsunami Evacuation Route was established after Phuket was struck by Tsunami in 2004.

Guess I’ll call it a night and enjoy the famous Patong Beach tomorrow.

Rise and shine.

Woohoo, got the pool all to myself.

Nice place to laze around and enjoy the pool.

Arghh! Please get off my back!

Explored the hotel ground for a while.

Time for breakfast.

Buffet breakfast at Nap Patong is simply delicious.

I stayed two nights in Nap Patong. So what do I think about this hotel?

Most definitely recommended.

Two couples (including the dogs) enjoying the scenery at Patong Beach.

Located just 5 minutes from Nap Patong is the famous Patong Beach. Nice view of the Andaman Sea.

At 3.5km, Patong Beach runs the entire length of Patong’s west side.

A girl trying to avoid getting wet, but was caught by the wave.

Well you can just stroll along the beach.

Dog’s paw print.

Are those paw prints from this dog?

The quiet streets of Thawiwong Road in the morning. Thawiwong Road runs adjacent to Patong Beach.

A famous cosmetic beauty shop in Patong aptly named Beauty Land.

Just 2 minutes walk from Nap Patong. You can get anything beauty related from sunblock lotion to make up items to shampoo, hair dye and etc. here.

Continued walking along the streets after my shopping at the Beauty Land.

The so called ‘Food Street’ just a few metres away from Beauty Land. It is located along the road of Rat-U-Thit Road near the Post Office If you’re not looking for a place to eat, avoid this street at all cost. They will harass and convince you to eat at their restaurant. There are more than 20 restaurant there, just imagine the situation I was in.

Christin Massage is a soapy massage parlour patronised by the men. This massage centre is quite far away from Bangla Road.

Hooters restaurant is just beside Hard Rock Cafe Phuket, is also far away from Bangla Road.

The No Swimming red flag at the Nap Patong Beach. A warning that the sea is dangerous.

The Chez Bernard or also known as Restaurant No. 6.

Chez Bernard is one of the few beachfront restaurant in Patong. I’m in Phuket and most definitely will not miss the opportunity to eat at the beach. I decided to dine here.

Restaurant No. 6 serves reasonable priced but delicious Thai food while enjoying the sea breeze. Nice place to eat.

Bought some souvenirs at the Findig shop while walking along Thawiwong Road.

My complementary welcome assorted fruit dish at Nap Patong bar.

Patong is not all that sleazy. It actually is a nice vibrant place of Phuket. I spent 2 nights in Patong and it’s time to explore other parts of Phuket.
