[JAPAN] Tokyo - First Avenue Tokyo Station
First Avenue Tokyo Station is a shopping strip attached to Tokyo Station via the Yaesu Underground Central Exit. It has three sections: Okashi Land, Ramen Street and Character Street. The most popular is Character Street featuring favourite characters like Hello Kitty, Studio Ghibli, Ultraman, Doraemon, and etc.
Character Street of First Avenue.
Erm, I don’t recognize this anime character but nevermind...
Ultraman World. I used to like Ultraman when I was a kid.
Rilakkuma store.
Hello Kitty shop.
Doraemon... everyone's dream childhood friend.
Donguri Republic selling Ghibli characters merchandise.
The robot from Nausica.
Moonmin shop and Snoopy Town. Moomin actually originated from Finland but it’s popular in Japan. So is Snoopy which isn't a Japanese character.
Jump shop.
Dragon ball and One Piece merchandise at Jump Shop.
and Sailormoon merchandise.
Okashi Land is where you can get beautifully packaged confectionaries. Glicoya Kitchen is where you can buy the giant rainbow Pocky. But I would recommend to buy it at the duty free shop in the airport instead.
There are eight ramen restaurants at Ramen Street. If you want to try something different, head to Rokurinsha which is famous for its tsukemen (dipped ramen with broth in a different bowl).
If you drop by Tokyo Station, don’t forget to visit First Avenue, even if you’re just window shopping.
