Day 1: Kuala Selangor

After checking into the cozy Hotel Le-Shore, our first mission was a satisfying seafood lunch at River View Seafood Restaurant. Fresh, flavorful, and a great start to the trip!

In the afternoon, we visited the serene Qi Jian Xian Shi Fo Zu Gu Miao Temple, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

But the real magic happened after sunset: the popular combo tour of eagle feeding, fireflies and blue tears! The tour lasted for about three hours (6pm to 9pm).

1)Eagle Feeding: An exhilarating spectacle as eagles swooped down over the water.

2)Fireflies: A truly enchanting experience, watching thousands of fireflies light up the mangroves like tiny, living Christmas trees.
3)Blue Tears: Catching the bioluminescent plankton which glows in the dark river water with net.

We capped the night with another seafood dinner before resting up for the next day.
Tip: Book the Kuala Selangor night tours in advance, especially on weekends! Take note of the tide schedule and weather conditions if you want to join the sky mirror tour in the morning.
Day 2: Sekinchan

We started the morning in Kuala Selangor with a stroll through the mural street art.

Then we climbed up to Bukit Melawati, which is famous for its historical lighthouse and playful silver leaf monkeys.

We also stopped by the charming Monkey God Temple.
Lunch was a delightful experience at Kuala Sungai (Ah Yu) Restaurant for more amazing seafood.

Then, it was time to officially enter Sekinchan. Our afternoon in Sekinchan started with a refreshing drink at Sekinchan Coconut Farm (opening hours: 10am - 5pm on Sat & Sun).
The mango juice and cut mango is a must try at Mango King.

The Sekinchan Paddy Gallery is a highlight for us, offering an educational and insightful look into how the region's famous rice is produced. It is an exhibition gallery located within a functioning rice processing factory.
Besides the Paddy Gallery, don't forget to visit Pearl Rice Garden to see the various growth stages of paddy (from vegetative, reproductive to ripening) besides the building. Sekinchan Paddy Gallery
Opening hours: 9.30am - 12.30pm, 2pm to 5.30pm daily
Entrance fees: RM 5 which comes with a free packet of 250g rice, free for child below95cm in height
Followed by a nostalgic stop at Ah Ma House for traditional snacks (opening hours: 10am - 6pm).
Dinner was a must-try claypot big prawn with glass noodles at Sekinchan Kayapo restaurant.
Our accommodation for the night was an incredibly unique experience at Farm Ville, a bright red container hotel right next to the paddy fields!
Tip: Rice in Sekinchan is harvested twice a year (June and December). So plan your journey accordingly.
Day 3: Teluk Intan
Then we were off to a quirky tea time at Sekinchan Bus Cafe. It's a cafe set inside a refurbished, vintage bus that is elevated on a shipping container, offering a unique dining experience. Since it's situated amidst the paddy fields, we got to enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding green or golden fields, depending on the season. The cafe focuses on drinks, cakes, scones, and other desserts. The interior is air-conditioned and retains some of the old bus charm, making it a nostalgic and comfortable spot to escape the heat. Seats are limited.
Sekinchan Bus Cafe
Opening hours: 11am - 7pm, closed on Tue till Thu
Minimum spending of RM15 per person is required
Afterwards, we made our way to our final destination: Teluk Intan.
The main event here is the historical Menara Condong Teluk Intan (Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan). We made sure to climb up the tower in the late afternoon for some history and photos.
After a hearty dinner at Restoran Seafood Village, we returned to see the tower lit up at night—a truly spectacular view!
We stayed the night at the Anson Hotel Teluk Intan
.
Day 4: Departure
Our last day was dedicated to savoring the local heritage and iconic food of Teluk Intan before heading home. We started with a mandatory stop to buy the iconic Hong Peah (Biskut Tiger Head) biscuits.
Breakfast was the legendary Liew Kee Chee Cheong Fun, a unique, savory rice noodle roll experience you can’t miss!
For lunch, we indulged in a warming bowl of Bak Kut Teh and other dishes at Yi Pin Xiang Bak Koot Teh restaurant.
