JAPAN – Osaka
Osaka is the third most populated city in Japan after Tokyo and Yokohama. One of the must-visit destination in Osaka city is Dotonbori, running along the Dotonbori-gawa canal. I was taking a picture of the canal. The canal water is so clean and clear.
Dotonbori used to be a theatre district. But it has now transformed into a tourist attraction offering numerous restaurants and entertainment.
Obviously, Japanese youngsters like to hang around in this area.
Takoyaki which is octopus inside fried dumplings is a popular snack in Osaka. You can see people lining up at the stall.
We’re heading to where the crowd really is – the major shopping district of Shin Sai Bashi-Suji.
Wow, this was the first I saw a Royce Rolls Phantom!
Shin Sai Bashi-Suji was actually a covered shopping area. One can easily get lost in this maze of shops and boutiques. This is the place to shop till you drop. Basically, it is a woman’s heaven. Men, you have no luck as most of the shops target women. But hey, there are plenty of pretty, young and hot Japanese girls walking around. Haha.
I bought the cute jacket in the picture and some inner wears here. I didn’t know that the jacket was actually a pyjamas, meant to wear indoor when it’s cold until recently. No wonder the Japanese kept giving me weird look when I was wearing it on the next day. They must be thinking why is this girl wearing pajamas outside. Haha.
Yes, there is a Hello-Kitty shop selling all things Hello-Kitty for fans.
It’s turning dark outside when we finished shopping.
More shopping malls! Are you kidding me? I’m done shopping, for that day, that’s it.
The numerous neon signboards at night is the trademark of Dotonbori. This Glico ‘running man’ signboard is famous. I don’t know why, don’t ask.
Well, I had fun shopping in Osaka. Half day in Osaka is just too short to explore the city. Next, it’s my favourite city, Kyoto.
