[MALAYSIA] Port Dickson - Alive 3D Art Gallery and Wild West Cowboy Theme Park

Port Dickson, which is located an-hour drive away from Kuala Lumpur, is an ideal weekend getaway from the city. If you're looking for more fun and activities besides the beach, you can consider dropping by Segar City, near the Lukut town. It consists of three main attractions: Alive 3D Art Gallery, Wild West Cowboy Theme Park and Segar Recreation Eco Park.

The first attraction that I went to was Alive 3D Art Gallery. Take note that shoes must be left outside on the shoe rack before entering the premise. They were having a special promotion during Ramadan, the combo pass is 50% discount from the usual price. Lucky me!

We were super lucky to have the whole place to ourselves. Since there are 50 interactive paintings & optical illusions inside the 3-storey building, we spent about an hour here, just having fun posing and taking photos.

Animation zone:

Sharing the same bathroom with the Avengers!

Help! I am being captured by a vampire!

Fly me to the moon!

Missed traveling the world? From Great Wall of China, Egypt to Venice, you take your pick.

Now I am broke. Show me the money!

Get your adrenaline rush by surfing the sea, climbing on top of a tower or rock-climbing.

If you are unsure of how to pose, there are some photo samples for your reference and marks on the floor that show where you should stand to take the photo. Be creative and click your camera away.

My favourite optical illusion is this red chair.

Next, we went to Wild West Cowboy Theme Park which is only 2-minute walk away at the end of the street.

Amusement rides such as Merry-go-round, rocking boat and 5D motion cinema are all located on the Ground floor. The 5D motion cinema is quite disappointing, some of the chairs are not functioning and the 3D glasses didn't bring out the 3D effect as it should. The other amusement rides are suitable for toddlers but probably not exciting enough for older child.

We took the elevator to go up to Level 1 where the laser tag & arcade games are. My boys had fun playing the arcade games - shooting at pumpkins and zombies. The arcade games are free but not all machines are functioning. We played the laser tag too on the same floor. Each has three "lives" indicated on the laser gun. If you used up all your "lives", you may press the restart button to replenish your "life", haha.

I think the most interesting game is the 5 themes Awake Thriller Walk on Level 2. It is something like an escape room. You need to solve some puzzles to move on to another set. Don't worry, the puzzles are relatively easy and family-friendly.

The most challenging part is the mirror room where it is dark and full of mirrors. It is easy to lost your direction in this room. And you need to stretch out your hands to feel where the mirrors are and avoid walking into the mirrors.

In total, we spent around 2 to 3 hours in Segar City. After that, we proceeded to check in to the resort, Grand Lexis Port Dickson, which I will write in my next posting.
