The demonstration is held at the back of the shop.
They also have some unique clogs on display.
Shark shape clogs.
Clogs for skating on ice.
Even clogs in high heels.
And the demonstration began. The demonstrator spoke in English, Dutch and some French.
The demonstration started with shaping a simple piece of wood into a clog using a machine.
Then the clog maker used another machine to shape the inside of the clog.
More shaving to shape the clog and it's done. The overall process lasted for about 15 minutes. A lucky kid managed to guess the size of the clog and he got to keep the clog as a souveniour.
This clog is special because the base of the clog is in the opposite direction. Smugglers used this kind of clog to avoid being detected as the shoe print lead people to think they went the opposite direction. How cunning!
If you're interested in the clog making process and you happened to be in Marken, then you shouldn't miss the demonstration at the Wooden Shoe Factory.
