Here is a peek into what awaits you inside this universe of optical wonder!

What to Expect:

The museum features dozens of interactive exhibits that fall into three main categories: Illusion Rooms, Installations, and Optical Illusion Images. Every installation is designed to trick your brain, teach you how visual perception works, and most importantly guarantee a lot of laughter.

1. The Ames Room

Ever wanted to grow or shrink in a matter of seconds? Step into the Ames Room! Thanks to clever geometric distortion, as you walk from one corner of the room to the other, you will visually transform from a giant into a tiny miniature right before your companions' eyes.

2. The Reversed Rooms

Everything inside appears upside down. With the right camera angle, you can look like you’re casually hanging from the ceiling or walking across walls.

3. Head on a Platter

One of the museum's signature installations where your head appears to be served on a dinner plate.

4. Beuchet Chair

Stand beside an oversized chair to create the illusion that you've become tiny.

5. Face Swap Illusion

Swap facial features with your friends using cleverly placed mirrors.

6. Mirror illusions

Strike a pose with the Half Body Mirror Illusion, where you only show half of your body while the mirror reflects the other half. The result is a bizarre, eye-catching photo that will have everyone wondering how you pulled off the trick.

You can also see yourself reflected in stunning kaleidoscope-like patterns. You have to switch on the flash light of your camera to take this photo.

7. The Vortex Tunnel

Walking through the rotating cylinder of the Vortex Tunnel is a surreal experience. Even though the walkway is completely flat and stable, the spinning optical illusion around you makes it feel like the ground is melting away beneath your feet. It’s disorienting, hilarious, and a total rush!

8. The Infinity Room

The Infinity Room creates an optical illusion of infinite space, making it one of the most magical spots in the museum to snap breathtaking, otherworldly photos.

9. Optical Illusion Gallery

A collection of images that appear to move, change size, or distort as you look at them.

Try name the colour of the words instead of reading the words. It's a lot of fun.

10. Clone Table

Sit around a specially designed table and appear multiple times in one photo. It looks like you’re having a meeting with your clones.

If you want to give your brain an extra workout, head over to the puzzle stations. Packed with wooden brain teasers, dilemma games, and mathematical knots, these tables will test your cognitive skills. Fair warning: they look deceptively simple, but they will keep you hooked for a good chunk of your visit!

Quick Tips for Your Visit

1) Weekdays are generally quieter if you want to take your time with the exhibits without rushing. If you're visiting on a weekend, try heading over earlier in the day.

2) Bring a fully charged smartphone or camera.

3) Ask the friendly staff for the best photo angles, they often help visitors capture the perfect illusion shot.

4) Take your time reading the explanations to understand the science behind each exhibit.

Final Verdict

The Museum of Illusions Bukit Bintang proves that learning about human perception doesn't have to be boring. It’s lighthearted, highly photogenic, and offers a refreshing break from the usual mall-hopping routine in KL.
