[MALAYSIA] How to Plan A 2-Day Seremban Adventure
Seremban, the charming capital of Negeri Sembilan, is much more than just a pit stop—it’s a destination bursting with heritage and, most importantly, incredible food! Forget the typical tourist trails; we spent two days diving deep into the local culture, from dragon fruit farms to historic temples, all fueled by some of the state’s most iconic delicacies.
Day 1:
We kicked off the trip with a vibrant drive to the HL Dragon Fruit Eco Farm in Sepang. This is a must-visit! The giant dragon fruit structure at HL Dragon Fruit Eco Farm is a multi-level building designed to look exactly like a massive dragon fruit. It holds the Guinness World Record for the "Largest Building Shaped as a Dragon Fruit" (achieved in 2023). It was also recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records as the "Largest Dragon Fruit Shaped Structure" in 2021. The exterior is painted in the distinctive purplish-red and green colors, mimicking the scales of a mature dragon fruit.
For visitors who joined the guided tour, they will receive a key chain and can enter the giant dragon fruit building in addition of a cup of cut dragon fruit. They also plant yellow dragon fruit in the farm but it wasn't in season during our visit.
The air-conditioned interior features detailed murals by local artists that recount the history of the farm and the cultivation stages of dragon fruit. The murals were painted with special paint which glows in the dark. It was visible once the lights were switched off. Last but not least, we ascended a spiral staircase to the top level for a 360-degree scenic view of the surrounding farm and district.
For lunch, we enjoyed a truly unique dragon fruit-themed meal at their restaurant. Think unique dragon fruit-infused cuisine such as Jumbo Dragon Bun, Braised Dragon Fruit Ginger Chicken Noodle, Dragon Fruit Fried Chicken Burger and Dragon Fruit Nasi Lemak. Do try the Dragon Breath, a smoothies which features dry ice for a dramatic, misty effect.
After our fruity feast, we bought some fresh dragon fruits from the store. Tips: buying the fruit by bulk at the store outside is cheaper as compared to the store inside.

Admission fee: Malaysian - RM10 adult, RM5 child, non-Malaysian - RM15 adult, RM10 child.
A more comprehensive option (around RM48/adult and RM28/child) includes a 20-minute guided tour of the farm and its activities.
Then we headed back toward the city to soak up some history at the Lembaga Muzium Negeri Sembilan. This is where you can see the unique Minangkabau architecture, especially the traditional 'Rumah Gadang' with its sweeping, buffalo horn-shaped rooflines.
The museum houses historical exhibits from prehistoric megaliths (the mysterious "standing stones" of Pengkalan Kempas) to the arrival of the British and Japanese.
Rumah Negeri Sembilan is a traditional model house that showcases the unique Adat Perpatih (matrilineal) social structure through its internal layout.

We then checked into the Carlton Star Hotel, settled in, and were off to chase panoramas at the famous Centipede Hill (Then Sze Koon Temple). Perched atop Wu Gong Hill, we were rewarded with great views of Seremban and the sight of its namesake centipede statues! Carpark lots are available on top of the hill, so visitors can drive all the way up.

It was my birthday that day. We celebrated it with cakes and coffee at the quaint 13th December Cafe in Seremban.
But the highlight of the day was dinner! Seremban is famous for its seafood, and the grilled crab at Kedai Makan Seremban Seafood Village is the stuff of legends. Marinated and perfectly grilled, the crab was succulent, smoky, and absolutely worth the trip. An unforgettable way to end Day 1!
Day 2:
We woke up early to embrace the authentic local morning routine at the Seremban Central Market (Pasar Besar). This bustling hub is the heart of the city, and the upstairs food court is where you’ll find some of the best and most affordable local breakfasts. The popular local dish to try is the Seremban Beef Noodles (牛腩粉). It features thick rice noodles known as lai fun in a thick, dark, and savory beef gravy, topped with tender braised beef brisket, salted vegetables (pickled cabbage), roasted peanuts, and sesame seeds.
After satisfying our breakfast cravings, it was time for Seremban's famous dessert: cendol! We lined up at the legendary Haji Shariff Cendol for a bowl of shaved ice topped with creamy coconut milk, Gula Melaka, and pandan jelly noodles. It’s the perfect way to cool down in the Malaysian heat.
We took a moment for reflection at the beautiful Church of the Visitation Seremban (1848). This historic French missionary church is an architectural landmark and a peaceful spot right in the heart of the city.
Then we had some fun at the street art alley.
Next, we took a detour to the unique Jelita Ostrich Farm. The park offers ostrich rides, a petting zoo & a store selling ostrich products & souvenirs. It’s a fun, family-friendly stop where you can get up close with ostriches, learn about them, and even try standing on an egg!
We tried feeding the ostrich but the goats were not afraid to get close and snatch the food.
An ostrich egg can typically withstand a weight of over approximately 200kg vertically and 120kg horizontally! It allows an adult human to stand on it without breaking it.
We also tried riding an ostrich.

No trip to Seremban is complete without buying its most famous pastry: the Seremban Siew Pow! We made our final stop at Empayar Seremban Siew Pow. These flaky, golden-brown baked buns filled with savory BBQ pork (or chicken for the halal version) are utterly addictive.
We had our last Seremban lunch here, stocked up a few boxes for the trip home, and then reluctantly started our drive back, our car heavy with souvenirs and our hearts full of great memories (and crab!).
