[MALAYSIA] Floral Paradise: World of Phalaenopsis, Ulu Yam

If you’re looking for a quick getaway from the concrete jungle of Kuala Lumpur, there’s a hidden gem tucked away in the quiet town of Ulu Yam. World of Phalaenopsis is more than just a nursery; it’s Malaysia's largest moth orchid farm and a sanctuary for anyone who loves nature, photography, or just a really good cup of coffee in a beautiful setting.

We visited World of Phalaenopsis on the way back to KL after spending a night glamping at Dusun Bonda.

It was near Christmas at that time.

This six-acre farm is home to thousands of Phalaenopsis orchids. As we walked through the greenhouses, we’re greeted by rows of vibrant blooms in shades of snow-white, sunset pink, and deep purple. From the hanging plants to the rustic garden decor, every corner is a photo op. The orchids are surprisingly affordable here, ranging from RM25 to RM40 per pot. It's the perfect souvenir to bring a piece of the farm home with you!

The Duck Pond is a serene area where you can watch waddling ducks and feed them (a big hit with kids!).

The Florescence Cafe is located right in the middle of the nursery, overlooking a waterlily pond.

The menu is simple but comforting, featuring local favorites and treats such as Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang, Asam Laksa etc., artisan coffee and tea. We had lunch here while soaking in the garden views.

The external landscaped garden is beautiful too.

Best Time to Go: Weekday mornings to avoid the weekend crowds.
